Workshop Title: Beginner Tapestry: Creating a Mug Rug
Workshop Description:
This workshop we will create a small tapestry mug rug using various wools from Custom Woolen MillsI will be demonstrating different tapestry techniques such as simple shapes and joining, finishing styles, and other weaving techniques
Materials and Equipment: Sara will provide a Kit with a laser cut loom and tools, and wools.

About the Instructor:
Sara Young is a fibre artist, woodworker and illustrator from Cochrane, Alberta. She is a graduate from the Fibre program at the Alberta College of Art + Design (now AU Arts) and has been a member of the SCW since 2017. Sara enjoys needle felting creatures of mythology and folklore, especially fae adjacent characters. Her feltwork strives to evoke a sense of whimsy and harkens back to the feeling of reading a storybook when viewed. Her woodworking primarily focuses on textile tools, such as weaving shuttles, lucets, and tapestry looms.
